  • Brief pair discussion: "Why is Roblox popular?" (2 mins). Feedback.

2. Pre-teaching Vocabulary
To block potential difficulties.
  • Present key words on the board/screen: Platform, Launch, Developer, Virtual.
  • Platform: Like a base (show iPhone/Android logos) where you run apps.
  • Launch: To start a rocket... or a new website (Action mime).
  • Developer: A person who builds things (software/houses).
  • Virtual: In the computer, not real (Matrix style).
  • CCQs (Concept Checking Questions): "Is a developer a person?" (Yes). "Is virtual money real in your pocket?" (No).

To practice skimming.
  • Hand out the worksheet (folded or face down).
  • Task: "Read the text quickly. Don't worry about every word. Find the answer to this question: When did the official website launch?"

  • Groups discuss and write a short plan.
